| Weezer rocked Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida for the MTV Taping after the release of their fifth studio album. They opened up with "Photograph," a song from the Green Album. They followed it up with "The Sweater Song," also known as "Undone," from the masterpiece that is the Blue Album. Everyone seemed to sing along more to the songs from the blue album, which included the earnest "Say It Ain't So," the poppy "Buddy Holly," and "Surf Wax America," played during the encore. The only song Weezer played from Pinkerton, their second album both chronologically and musically, was "El Scorcho," one of the best songs on Pinkerton. Songs from their fifth and most recent album, "Make Believe," included "Peace," "Perfect Situation," and "We Are All On Drugs." The MTV Cameras hovered above over the crowd and in front of Rivers Cuomo and company. During a break after one song, Cuomo said to the audience something to the extent of, "Hey as you all might know we are being taped by MTV, so if you find us posing a little bit more than usual I hop that is okay." The concert was fun but it definitely could have gone much longer, as the set list shows. Also the sound was a bit muffled, probably because it was an MTV taping. Every song on Weezer's first album, The Blue Album, is amazing, and their second album, Pinkerton is different but good as well. Sadly, they have not made another album on the scale of those two first albums since. One thing that made this concert so worthwhile was the many songs they played from the Blue Album, although a few more from Pinkerton would have rocked as well. ![]() Set List: "Photograph" "Undone" "Peace" "El Scorcho" "Perfect Situation" "Death & Destruction" "Island" "Drugs" "Say It Ain't So" "Buddy Holly" "Hash Pipe" "Surf Wax" |
