The Langerado Music Festival rocked the gorgeous Markham Park, a 600+ acre facility located on the eastern edge of Florida's Everglades Conservation area, this year for two days of of front porch soul and much more. Acts included Keller Williams, Medeski Martin & Wood, the String Cheese Incident, and the Hackensaw Boys, who played fast tunes to the dancing of stoners across the festival grounds. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band played amazingly well with a clean, crisp sounds that echoed across the field. Donavon Frankenreiter rocked the house as the sun beat down on the audience, and the highlight for this Florida native was the Mofro performance.

One of the highlights was the MOFRO performance, a southeran blues-style band that originates from North Florida. Lead singer JJ Grey of Mofro showed his musical talent (he can play the guitar, piano, harmonica, bass and drums) by jamming on the keys one song and on the guitar the next.

On "Lochaloosa," which lasted for about 9 minutes, he lamented the destruction of Florida's ecology by rampant unchecked development. While playing "dirtfloorcracker," he explained the meaning as some people thinking they are better than others simply because of cultural differences. As the hot Florida sun beat down on the crowds, Mofro and the other band plays tunes in their styles that ranged from reggae to hip-hop, from progressive rock to bluegrass, from Latin to jam bands.
